The iCMG (Internet Component Management Group) awarded HSCIC (Health and Social Care Information Centre) the Enterprise & IT Architecture Excellence Award 2015 in the Healthcare category. The award was bestowed for the architecture, design and development of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) system.
Mastek is the IT solutions partner to HSCIC, a non-departmental public body of the UK Department of Health. The IAM system went live earlier this year and is the largest, centralised enterprise based platform providing trusted, identity assurance based services to users across the UK’s National Health Service. It is a complex, safety-critical system delivered using agile software development methodologies.
Services provided through the IAM system are extensive and cover user enrolment, smartcard management, digital signature based authentications and access management to 1.5 million clinical users working across 50,000 NHS organisations in the United Kingdom. The Mastek-designed IAM system is saving the NHS millions of pounds per year. End users are delighted with the system and performance has dramatically improved, allowing front line staff to spend more time on delivering patient care.
The iCMG Enterprise & IT Architecture Excellence Awards are conferred each year to honour architects and enterprises whose work demonstrates a combination of talent, vision and workmanship in creating successful and enduring systems and enterprises. The iCMG awards are presented at a ceremony held during the iCMG Architecture World conference.
