## Art Rooted in Everyday Life

I paint because life keeps asking me to notice it.

My inspiration doesn’t come from big ideas or distant concepts. It comes from what’s already around me, the things I live with every day. Ordinary objects catch my attention: worn surfaces, quiet details, a rusted latch, a clay pot, a piece of faded fabric. They all carry time, memory, and the touch of human hands. I don’t paint them exactly as they look. I paint how they make me feel.

I’ve always felt deeply connected to handicrafts. There’s something honest about them, the patience, the skill, the generations of care that go into making something by hand. The textures, the little imperfections—they feel real to me. When I paint, it feels like a conversation with these crafts, honoring where they come from while letting them speak in a new way on canvas.

Madhubani paintings have been a huge influence on me. I love their bold lines, earthy colors, and the way they tell stories drawn from everyday life. They remind me that art doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. That rhythm, intention, and respect for tradition can say so much without saying too much.

I also love gifting my paintings to the people I care about. For me, a painting isn’t just an artwork; it’s a feeling, a memory, a bond. It’s my way of holding onto moments and relationships, even as time moves on.

Painting is my therapy.

It grounds me. It heals me. It gives my emotions somewhere to go.

Life itself is my studio: people, objects, traditions, relationships. They all become part of my palette. I paint to slow things down, to preserve what feels real, and to remind myself that creating something honest is, in itself, a way of healing.
